FAQ
Is the transcript generator free?
Reading a transcript that's already on MomentClip is free, with no account. Getting a new transcript, and copying or exporting any transcript, is included with Pro ($19/month, 10 new transcripts a month) and Scale ($59/month, 30). Videos already on MomentClip don't count toward the limit.
Where does the transcript come from?
From the video's YouTube captions: the creator's own captions when there are some, otherwise YouTube's automatic captions. When a video has no captions, MomentClip transcribes the audio instead.
How accurate is it?
As accurate as the source. Creator captions are usually clean. Automatic captions mishear names, jargon, and numbers: in the example above, "250 miles" was captioned as "250 m". Check anything you plan to quote against the video.
Which videos work?
Public YouTube videos up to 3 hours long. If a video has no speech, you'll see a message and the run isn't counted.
How long does it take?
A transcript that's already on MomentClip opens immediately. A new one usually takes under a minute when the video has captions, and longer when the audio has to be transcribed.
